Hope is lost - She Art

I'm crafting up a storm again over here in WA. Visiting my sister is so much fun! We can craft for hours. Whilst she was updating her website today,  I was looking at you tube videos and blogs about she art. I asked Emma if she had a spare canvas laying about. She did!

I have used the Kaisercraft 75cent Range papers and collectables, Kaisercraft pearl flourish, Prima flowers, Ruby Rocket Trimmings, American crafts thickers. 

This is what I came up with, I call it "Hope is Lost".

Oxford Lane - Assemblage Clock

I arrived in perth yesterday and we were straight into crafting! Emma let me raid the shop and purchase some new goodies before they went up online. I love doing off the page projects, and couldn't resist this assemblage clock from Tim Holtz. I love the little blurb/definitions that Tim Holtz puts on his products

ASSEMBLAGE CLOCK: A hollowed clock for collecting and displaying timeless trinkets.

I started by painting the  base of it with Kaisercraft Acrylic Paint, added papers from My Minds Eye - Kate & Co - Oxford Lane.  Prima flowers, Pink Paislee Hope Chest collection butterflies. HOC lilly  flowers. Random charms from Emmas personal stash.

Blue Bird - Off the Page - DT ENTRY #2

Another Birdhouse, I layered gorgeous vintage lace over the roof, and added a huge glass crystal to the front. The Kaisercraft base coat papers were a hit with the recipient of this birdhouse. Some items I have used is Krafty Savers ribbon, Kaisercraft bingo cards, prima flowers, Kaisercraft doilies, Kaisercraft blossoms and mini blooms, Kaisercraft resin flowers and some green tara blooms.

Secret Admirer - High School Sweethearts

I love this photo of my best friend and her husband on there wedding day, I had the pleasure of going to school with both of them. Its funny how they found themselves after high school. So technically can you even call them high school sweet hearts?

I used the Secret admirer range in papers, Kaisercraft Washi Tape, Secret Admirer Icon die-cuts and Doily die-cuts, Junkshop Buttons.

Off the Page - Bird House

Loving the new wood style papers from brands such as Kaiser, MME and more at the moment. They provide a great background to simple off the page projects. I wanted to design a bird house that is life like and also provides a warm and ornamental feel to the piece.

My layouts are something that I have not done before adding texture paste to a layout

I used the chicken wire chipboard and added texture paste to the paper. Added an abundance of flowers from Prima, Manor house, Green Tara and hooked on craft. I also designed and made the title, with a new brand of thickers called DIY Thickers. Very fun to play with.

Dusty Attic - Design Team Entry #2

Here is my second entry, I call it "Little Wishes Boxes" another BTP that sparked my interest. Everything at the moment all my works seem to contain the colour Yellow. Not quite sure what that means but Im kinda of liking my style with it.

I handmade the hat pins, with Swaroski Pearl and Czech glass beads. Here is another close up to show off some more detail.

Dusty Attic Design Team Entry #1

I wanted to create something special to impress. Mum really loves her Greens, creams and country style things and I thought I'd make her something special for Christmas. I created this mini rectangle shadow box. I embellished with Chicken Wire Chipboard, Tim Holtz Philoshopy tags. Prima Flowers and Kasiercraft Embellishment (Doilies, Hunt and Gather Tags, Leaves, Rhinestones and Posies).

I don't have any children so sometimes I run out of photos to scrap, and that's when my little fur babies come out to play. This is the Tiny wood collection from Kaisercraft, and the star of my layout is Tobias J. He is my everything

Scrap your Socks Off Design Team Profile

How did you first get interested in paper-craft? I have always loved craft, I tried my hand at scrapbooking quite a long time ago and I just couldn't get the right techniques and colours and nothing ever worked out for me. March 2010. My sister came over from Perth to visit family and we scrapped everyday for a week. 

What is your biggest inspiration when creating a new project? The Photo’s. I love the colours and scenery and I try to involve that into my projects.

What is your favourite tool to use? Why? Craftrobo  “ You are really unlimited to the possibilities of cutting with this machine.

What techniques do you commonly use? Distressing with ink and tools " I'm a huge fan of distressed items. I think a page is not complete without a little tear/ink/paint.

Do you plan your project before construction or do they develop as you work? Most develop whilst I work, I tend to pull out everything i have and pick little bits out here and there and then it usually all comes together and then viola! 

What do you find to be the greatest and most fulfilling about your work? The greatest and most fulfilling thing about my projects is the fact that I can reminisce while I work with photos.

Finally do you have any advice or tips for those who are starting out in paper-craft? I believe very strongly in Tim Holtz™ quote "Embrace imperfections" Most mistakes in craft can easily be fixed. Imperfections with everything can bring a whole new point of view to the project.
